Amazing Adventure through the Black Rock Desert: May 9-11, 2014

The first night was cold, windy and it hailed. We warmed ourselves up with some tasty smores. The next day the wind died down, and it was warm. We explored our camp site. Madeline found bones, minerals in the washes and lichen on the rocks to name a few. There were big boulders for climbing and putting on plays. We spent our time hiking, building a rock wall around our camp site, playing card games and reading the book Twig, a wonderful story about a little girl with a big imagination that becomes a fairy in her own back yard. We saw lizards, a coyote, beetles, grasshoppers, mosquitos, antelope and hawks. Judy enjoyed her camping adventure too.
